February 2022

Dear Parents and Students,

February is already here! Students are getting excited with the preparation of our annual June performance.  Costume balances will be due by the end of the month. Each family will receive an email with your balance due at the beginning of February.  If your child is in more than one class and you would like an itemization of each costume, please contact Miss Heather. *Please makecostumechecks payable to “Karrie Mason” (*NO CREDIT CARDS accepted for costume balances – cash or check only).

Costumes run in small, medium, large and extra-large sizes. They are not made to exact measurements but are ordered carefully according to each costume company’s sizing chart. Please keep in mind that many costumes may need slight alterations.  Once costumes are paid in full students will receive them upon arrival. It is very important to hang your costumes in a safe place until Picture Day then again until Dress Rehearsal. Please do not wear your costumes prior to then. All costumes are non-refundable and unable to be replaced.

Gotta Dance Spirit Week! Saturday, February 12th – Friday, February 18th – The studio is going to help our Competition Team get ready for competition season by showing our studio spirit!  Each day will have a theme and you can wear something as part of the theme - be sure to take photos of yourself and tag us on Instagram! (@ksgottadance) (*see flyer attached to the newsletter, on the website and in the studio with the Spirit Week theme days)

Gotta Dance will be CLOSED for all regular classes & Zumba classes from Monday, February 21st – Saturday, February 26thfor school vacation week. We will have some competition team rehearsals and senior citizen classes this week as well as a few make-up classes (those classes will be notified by their instructor).

*Note on Perfect Attendance:  At the recital dress rehearsal, we have an awards ceremony to celebrate milestones of dancers at our studio.  Included in those awards has been perfect attendance.  Due to the pandemic, we are not going to be giving out perfect attendance awards again this year since we are encouraging absences when dancers are not feeling well or have been identified as close contacts with people testing positive for Covid or if they test positive for Covid themselves.  We know this may be disappointing for some dancers, but we may get back to that award next year after we do not have to have as many restrictions with attendance.  Thank you for your understanding.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR: (These dates are tentative – we will continue to follow MA State Covid guidelines and recital information may change or be updated accordingly)
